Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with a Halifax, NS-based company to hire an Administrative Assistant. This will be a 1-month contract with the potential for an extension 

Benefits & Perks:

  • Compensation: $20 to $23/hour.
  • Please note, this will be a fully on-site role at the client's Halifax, NS office.
  • Immediate Start.
  • Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Purchasers to get Purchase Orders submitted to vendors in a timely manner and in accordance with PO policy.
  • Set up new vendors in the system and communicate with vendors where needed.
  • Assist a team of 6 with administrative tasks.
  • Review invoices for accuracy and receive invoices through Oracle.
  • Work with the Accounts Payable team to get invoices processed in a timely manner and reach out to vendors for missing invoices or corrections when needed.
  • Regularly review how reports are being produced and maintained, looking for ways to streamline and improve efficiencies in reporting.
  • Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and respond to inquiries.
  • Manage office supplies inventory and reorder as needed.

Qualifications:

  • A Degree or Diploma in Business, Accounting, or Administration is an asset.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office, including Excel, and with Oracle is an asset.
  • Must have over 3 years of Administration experience with some exposure to accounting (invoices, POs, AP, AR).
  • Must have excellent communication and multitasking skills.
