Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic Instructor with experience in:

- Scratch-based coding

- Python programming

- Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts

- Robotics fundamentals

The ideal candidate is energetic, patient, and skilled at simplifying complex technical concepts for young learners. You'll lead interactive classes, mentor students, and help develop engaging educational materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach coding and robotics to students aged 7–16 using Scratch, Python, and introductory AI/Robotics platforms.
  • Use and manage Learning Management Systems (LMS) to organize lessons, track progress, and support online learning.
  • Collaborate with the curriculum team to design and enhance courses and activities.
  • Provide technical and creative input for course content using HTML and other web technologies.
  • Engage students in fun, project-based learning to build real-world skills.
  • Offer feedback and encouragement to inspire confidence and curiosity in students.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven teaching or mentoring experience with children or teens.
  • Strong knowledge of Scratch, Python, and basic AI or robotics frameworks (Arduino).
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle, Canvas, or Google Classroom.
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS and digital content development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for education, creativity, and technology.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with educational technology tools and gamified learning.
  • Understanding of AI tools like ChatGPT, Teachable Machine, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to develop simple web-based learning modules or interactive lessons.
  • STEM education or computer science background is a plus.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.19-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Surrey, BC V4N 1B2
