HSE Field Lead Position Summary

The HSE Field Lead plays a key leadership role in supporting and enhancing Weaver Group's safety culture across all field operations. This position provides direct oversight, mentorship, and technical expertise to ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and all applicable federal and provincial safety regulations.

As an experienced safety professional, the HSE Field Lead partners closely with project management and field supervision to implement proactive safety initiatives, identify potential risks, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

Responsibilities

The HSE Field Coordinator is Responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Lead, coach, and mentor field HSE Advisors and site personnel to strengthen safety performance and awareness.
  • Promote Weaver Group's safety culture by demonstrating visible leadership and consistent communication.
  • Encourage engagement and accountability among workers and supervisors.
  • Implement and maintain HSE programs and procedures to meet company, client, and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and incident investigations; ensure corrective actions are completed and communicated.
  • Monitor compliance of employees and subcontractors, including verification of training and equipment certifications.
  • Stay current with evolving legislation, standards, and best practices in occupational health, safety, and environmental protection.
  • Identify hazards, assess risks, and support proactive measures to mitigate potential incidents.
  • Analyze HSE data and performance indicators to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Support the development and rollout of new safety initiatives and procedures.
  • Deliver and coordinate safety orientations, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of hazard assessments, inspections, and safety meetings.
  • Communicate key HSE information effectively between field teams and leadership.
  • Partner with Operations and Project Management to integrate safety planning into all phases of work.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on leading and lagging indicators, audit findings, and overall HSE performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, clients, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HSE experience in field-based roles.
  • Experience in Pipeline, Facility, and/or Civil Construction is preferred.
  • NCSO, CRSP, OH&S, or equivalent certification is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Acts and Regulations.
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proven leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence positive behavioral change in diverse work environments.

Position Details

  • Location: Project-based position located in Northern Saskatchewan.
  • Travel: Candidate must be able to travel to Edmonton to meet Weaver transport arrangements.
  • Schedule: 16 days on / 12 days off rotation.
  • Compensation: Competitive remuneration based on experience and qualifications.

Required Certificates/Training

  • H2S Alive
  • Standard First Aid with CPR
  • Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract
