What you can expect to do here:

  • Lead and coordinate field investigations, inspections, and construction activities for bridge projects.
  • Supervise junior field staff and ensure adherence to safety protocols and inspection standards.
  • Perform structural assessments, visual inspections, testing, and identify deficiencies in bridge components.
  • Compile field data, prepare inspection forms, photo reports, and general arrangement drawings.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of field work.
  • Provide input on repair and rehabilitation recommendations, timelines, and cost estimates.
  • Support quality control reviews and ensure deliverables meet client and regulatory expectations.

What you'll bring to WSP:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in bridge inspection, construction, or rehabilitation.
  • Familiarity with Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC S6-19) and related standards.
  • Strong understanding of field safety practices and inspection methodologies.
  • Proficiency in data collection tools and reporting software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Excel, inspection platforms).
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Experience with Alberta Transportation or municipal bridge programs.
    • NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) familiarity and ability to interpret results.
    • Strong communication and leadership skills in field settings.
    • Ability to mentor junior staff and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams.
