Position Overview
We are seeking a creative, youth-centered, and highly organized Coordinator to lead the launch and daily operations of our Best Buy Teen Tech Center (TTC). This new role blends technology-rich youth engagement, community outreach, partnership development, and operational leadership to ensure the Teen Tech Center is a vibrant, inclusive, and youth-led space for creativity, learning, and career exploration.
The Teen Tech Center provides youth with access to cutting-edge technology and tools to explore meaningful projects, such as music production, digital art, robotics, animation, coding, photography, and more, while supported by caring adult mentors and a community of peers.You will receive strategic oversight from the Senior Manager, Programs and collaborate closely with internal teams, Best Buy staff, The Clubhouse Network, and community partners.
Position Details:
- Contract Type/Term: Full-time, Indefinite
- Start Date: March 2, 2026
- Hours of Work: 35 hours/week, including at least 20 hours/week of open TTC programming during after school and/or weekend hours

- Location: Toronto-based hybrid model, with occasional in-office work at 71 Regent Park Boulevard, Toronto, ON and at TTC site(s) across the GTA. Travel to Best Buy and Clubhouse Network meetings, conferences, and professional learning is required
- Available Positions: 1
- Salary: In alignment with VoSNL's compensation framework, the salary for this position begins at $50,000 CAD per year, with opportunities for incremental increases based on results and impact up to the top of the role band at $62,000 CAD.

Key Responsibilities
Program Delivery & Facilitation
- Facilitate daily programming in a youth-led, project-based environment grounded in the Clubhouse learning model.
- Support youth in developing digital media, STEM, and creative technology projects (e.g., music, newsletters, coding, animation, robotics).
- Provide hands-on help: idea generation, material gathering, troubleshooting, connecting youth with mentors, and celebrating project outcomes.
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, creative space that reflects TTC culture and values.
- Provide technology maintenance (file management, troubleshooting, equipment upkeep).
- Ensure participant logging, data collection, and reporting systems are consistently maintained.
- Support youth in exploring academic, tech, and career pathways aligned with their TTC experiences.
Program Strategy & Leadership
- Ensure the TTC implements the Best Buy Teen Tech Center learning model and philosophy
- Support strategic planning tied to TTC sustainability, community integration, and youth engagement outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design, evaluate, and enhance programming.
- Ensure TTC operations align with Best Buy Foundation expectations, including career pathways, STEM access, and equity commitments.
- Uphold all grant requirements, operational standards, and reporting obligations.
- Support tours, open houses, storytelling, and fundraising-related activities.
Community Engagement & Outreach
- Lead outreach strategies to engage diverse youth ages 13–18.
- Build relationships with youth, families, community leaders, teachers, and partners.
- Plan and host TTC events, showcases, open houses, and volunteer engagement days (including monthly Best Buy employee open house).
- Recruit and coordinate Geek Squad Agents, Blue Shirts, and local volunteers.
- Represent Visions of Science at community meetings, forums, and grassroots spaces.
Partnership Development & Stewardship
- Support the designated CBO Representative (Visions of Science manager) in maintaining TTC excellence.
- Coordinate closely with Best Buy, The Clubhouse Network, and presenting partners.
- Develop partnerships that expand mentorship, skills training, resource-sharing, and youth opportunities.
- Maintain accurate CRM documentation of partnerships, volunteers, and engagement activities.
- Support long-term sustainability planning with internal teams and Best Buy Foundation partners.
Curriculum & Coordination
- Ensure programming reflects youth interests while aligning with project-based learning principles.
- Support staff in integrating TTC resources into broader Visions of Science programming (workshops, kits, school-based activities).
- Adapt facilitation tools and activities to reflect culturally responsive and equity-centered approaches.
- Maintain TTC technology, equipment, and space to meet required standards.
- Ensure TTC website content is accurate and regularly updated.
Stakeholder Communication & Knowledge Sharing
- Provide administrative support including records, scheduling, reporting, and communications.
- Prepare updates for funders, Best Buy, The Clubhouse Network, and internal leadership.
- Contribute to best-practice sharing within the national Teen Tech Center community.
- Support storytelling and communications to highlight youth achievements and TTC impact.
What We're Looking ForEducation & Training
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field (community development, youth work, digital media, education, tech, nonprofit management) OR equivalent lived and professional experience
- Commitment to ongoing learning, including mandatory Best Buy & Clubhouse Network training
Required Experience & Expertise
- 3–5 years experience supporting youth in community or educational settings
- Demonstrated ability to foster inclusive, creative, tech-rich learning environments
- Experience with digital media, creative technology, or STEM learning spaces
- Ability to engage youth, families, educators, mentors, and diverse stakeholders
- Experience in community engagement, outreach, and partnership building
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, including data tracking
- Comfort troubleshooting basic technology and maintaining hardware/software
- Ability to work evenings/weekends as required
Required Travel and MeetingsAttend all mandatory Best Buy Teen Tech Center and Clubhouse Network meetings, including:
- Scheduled virtual or phone meetings
- The Clubhouse Network Annual Conference (three days)
- The biennial Regional Workshop
- Professional development opportunities hosted by Best Buy
- Travel and related expenses are supported through grant funding

- Experience in nonprofit, education, or youth development contexts
- Familiarity with The Clubhouse Network learning model
- Experience recruiting and supervising volunteers or mentors
- Experience contributing to grants, reporting, or storytelling
