310T Truck & Coach Technician – Dealership Service Department

Hino Ottawa is a leading authorized dealer for Hino Trucks, providing full-service maintenance, diagnostics, and warranty repair on Hino and other makes and models of commercial trucks. Our state-of-the-art facility and strong manufacturer support make us one of the top service centers in the region.

We are expanding our service team and looking for a skilled 310T Technician who takes pride in quality workmanship and enjoys working with the latest OEM tools and technologies.

Position Overview

As a 310T Truck & Coach Technician at our dealership, you will perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on customer and fleet vehicles, including warranty work directly supported by the manufacturer. You'll work closely with service advisors, parts staff, and OEM technical representatives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dealership-level diagnostics and repairs on medium and heavy-duty trucks
  • Complete OEM warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer standards
  • Conduct safety inspections and preventative maintenance services
  • Troubleshoot engines, aftertreatment systems, electrical, and drivetrain components
  • Use OEM diagnostic software (e.g., Hino DX, Cummins Insite, Wabco, etc…)
  • Complete work orders and documentation accurately
  • Communicate findings to service advisors to support accurate customer estimates
  • Collaborate with service managers and other techs on complex repairs
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work bay
  • Follow all dealership, safety, and manufacturer guidelines

Qualifications

  • Valid 310T Truck & Coach Technician License (required)
  • Experience performing Ontario DriveOn inspections is an asset
  • Previous dealership experience or OEM-specific training is an asset
  • Proficiency with OEM and aftermarket diagnostic tools and software
  • Strong troubleshooting and electrical diagnostic skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced shop environment
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Own a comprehensive set of hand tools (specialty tools provided)
  • Valid driver's license
