About Us

Inquiring Little Minds (ILM) is opening a new childcare centre in Courtenay, BC , and we are looking for a dedicated Center Manager to lead operations, support staff, and build strong relationships with families.

About the Role

The Center Manager oversees daily operations, ensures Licensing compliance, mentors staff, communicates with families, and maintains a safe, nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain BC Licensing compliance and readiness for inspections.
  • Monitor ratios, safety procedures, and daily operations.
  • Lead, mentor, and support staff; conduct new-hire orientations.
  • Build strong relationships with families; support gradual entry.
  • Oversee curriculum planning and ensure weekly updates are shared on Brightwheel.
  • Complete required reports: Weekly Manager Report, Health & Safety, monthly inspections.
  • Maintain accurate children's and staff files, cleaning logs, and documentation.
  • Manage Wise Card spending and follow purchasing procedures.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Valid ECEA, ECE, or ITE certification.
  • First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred:

  • 5+ years experience in licensed childcare.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
