**Job Overview**:
The Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) Manager oversees all aspects of daily operations within the childcare facility. This includes the management of staff, ensuring compliance with the BC Child Care Licensing Regulations, and maintaining accurate program and client records. The ECEC Manager will ensure children's health, safety, and development are prioritized and aligned with current provincial legislation, policies, and procedures. The role also involves managing the ECEC budget, tracking expenditures and revenues, and maintaining financial records. Must be available Monday - Friday from 7:00 am - 6:00 pm.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Staff Management**:

- Supervise and support the staff, ensuring all team members adhere to best practices and professional standards.
- Facilitate regular performance reviews, professional development opportunities, and team meetings.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and supportive work environment.
- **Regulatory Compliance & Safety**:

- Ensure compliance with the BC Child Care Licensing Regulations, ensuring all policies and procedures are followed.
- Monitor the physical environment to maintain a safe, clean, and secure facility.
- Maintain accurate, confidential files for all children and staff in accordance with privacy and licensing requirements.
- **Financial Management**:

- Oversee the ECEC budget, including the tracking of expenses and revenues.
- Prepare regular financial reports for review, ensuring that expenditures align with budgetary constraints.
- Maintain accurate financial records and provide transparent financial reporting to senior management.
- **Operational Management**:

- Manage daily operations of the center, including scheduling, resource allocation, and program development.
- Ensure that all necessary supplies, equipment, and materials are available and in good condition.
- Work closely with senior leadership to identify and implement improvements to operational efficiency and service delivery.
- **Reporting & Documentation**:

- Ensure timely and accurate reporting in line with licensing requirements.
- Keep up-to-date records of all incidents, accidents, and health-related matters, ensuring proper follow-up and documentation.
- Prepare and submit reports on center operations, finances, and any required regulatory compliance.

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field.
- Valid ECE certification and current First Aid/CPR certification.
- Minimum of [X] years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role within an ECEC setting.
- In-depth knowledge of BC Child Care Licensing Regulations and other relevant provincial legislation.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven financial management experience, including budgeting and reporting.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

**Supervise and manage daycare staff**
- Recruit and onboard daycare staff; supervise, coach, and encourage staff
- Evaluate staff performance
- Take corrective action when necessary
- Assess training needs
- Provide opportunities for training and development

**ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES**
- Keep parents informed of program expectations, program activities, and their child’s progress
- Develop and maintain current, accurate, and confidential client files
- Prepare and monitor the daycare budget
- Manage registration of children for preschool and daycare programs
- Provide ECE support for programs as required
- All persons employed by the Okanagan Indian Band may be required to assist the Band in providing emergency services. Duties assigned during an emergency may differ from regular duties.
- Participate in community events as requested
- Abide by the Early Childhood Educators of B.C. Code of Ethics
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the OKIB policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as required

**WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR**
You have education, experience, or carry a willingness to learn. You are community-minded, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator.

**Education**
- Early Childhood Education Certification and license to practice from the B.C. Early Childhood Educator Registry or ECEA and working towards the ECE certificate.
- Current Childcare First Aid Certificate
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

**CLASSIFICATION/PAY SCALE**
Dependent on education and experience
