Position Summary

The Youth & Childcare Supervisor plays a critical role in creating engaging, safe, and inclusive environments for children, school-aged youth, teens, and families at Hollyburn Country Club. Working collaboratively with the Youth Coordinator and department staff, this role is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of high-quality programming and services across our childcare and youth spaces.

Position Responsibilities

Program Development & Facilitation

  • Plan, develop, and facilitate innovative programs, camps, and special events for families, children, and youth, including after-school programs and seasonal activities.
  • Organize and lead camps during summer, spring break, winter break, and professional development days.
  • Prepare the Mini Scholars monthly newsletter for participating families.
  • Input seasonal program information into GameTime for registration.
  • Oversee content related to Youth and HollyVille for View magazine.

Leadership & Administration

  • Provide leadership and day-to-day operational support within the Childminding Centre, ensuring safe practices, smooth functioning, and alignment with Club policies and procedures.
  • Schedule Childcare staff and assist the Youth Coordinator with Youth staff scheduling.
  • Supervise and support Childcare and Youth staff, including hiring, training, performance management, and evaluations.
  • Liaise with program instructors, facilities, Food & Beverage, and other departments to coordinate shared spaces, setup, menus, and program logistics.
  • Prepare and monitor the annual budget for HollyVille and Youth departments.
  • Submit member billing and contractor invoices to Accounting in a timely manner.
  • Organize quarterly Parent Insight Committee meetings to gather feedback and drive continuous improvement.

Member Engagement & Program Excellence

  • Respond to inquiries regarding Childcare and Junior programs and facilities, including HollyVille and The Hub.
  • Provide onsite supervision and active member engagement during Club-hosted events such as Family Fun Nights, Hollygras, Santa Brunch, Mother-Son Ball, Hub Nights, and Mini Scholars Graduation.
  • Track and measure program success seasonally and annually, using data and member feedback to enhance future offerings.
  • Maintain current knowledge of trends in youth and recreation programming to support the development of relevant, high-quality experiences.

Health, Safety & Club Standards

  • Ensure program areas are clean, safe, and organized, with furniture in place and cleaning supplies stored securely.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate risks and prevent injuries across Childcare and Youth areas.
  • Attend monthly Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Committee meetings as required.
  • Ensure safety compliance.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working with children and youth in a recreational, educational, or childcare setting.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certification required.
  • ECE Certification preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Reliable transportation is an asset, as public transit options to the Club are limited.
  • Proven leadership, customer service, and interpersonal skills with a passion for child and youth development.

Working Conditions

  • This position operates 100% on-site
  • Regular evenings or weekend work may be required during peak periods or special events
  • Own transportation is an asset as public transportation is not frequent to/from the Club
