Role Overview

As Senior Project Development Manager, you'll lead the front-end development, planning and execution of major development projects across the company's asset base. This role requires strong project leadership skills, a solid understanding of resource exploration, resource development feasibility, operations, and the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships across technical and commercial teams.

This is a full-time, in-office role based in the Grand Junction area of Northwestern Colorado and includes occasional travel. A relocation allowance is available.

Northwestern Colorado offers a high quality of life with stunning natural beauty, year-round outdoor activities, and easy access to Aspen, Vail, Denver and other regional attractions, without the high cost of living. The area boasts excellent healthcare, strong community infrastructure, and convenient regional airports with direct flights to major cities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee full lifecycle management of resource development projects—from strategy, team culture and feasibility to long-term execution
  • Define scopes, deliverables, timelines, and resource needs in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Manage budgets, schedules, risk assessments, and change control processes
  • Ensure alignment with environmental permitting and regulatory compliance standards
  • Coordinate with engineering, land, regulatory, and finance teams to meet milestones
  • Monitor progress and report on key performance indicators, implementing adjustments as needed
  • Support infrastructure planning, operational optimization, and long-term capital development
  • Contribute to overall asset strategy and future project pipeline planning

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geoscience, Project Management, or a related technical field
  • 10+ years of experience in mining, oil & gas or energy sectors, with a strong focus on project management
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multidisciplinary projects from production to products and logistics
  • Familiarity with environmental permitting processes, state/federal regulatory frameworks, and risk mitigation practices
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and reporting skills
  • Proficient in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Resourceful, adaptive, and solutions-oriented leader
