Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare all varieties and cuts of meat
  • Moving meat from freezers to cutting area
  • Ensure all cuts of meat meet quality standards for freshness and appearance
  • Utilize proper equipment tasks safely and efficiently, as needed
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate with managers to ensure adequate stock of meat products
  • Follow food safety regulations and guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a clean, sanitary work environment
  • Assist customers with product selection, providing information about different products and cuts of meat
  • Package and label meat products appropriately, including pricing and expiration date information
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety, sanitation, and customer service
  • Work efficiently to meet production goals and minimize waste
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned by the meat room manager or store management

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in meat room considered an asset
  • Self-starter and positive attitude
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and carry all items up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Steel-toed boots required
  • Clean certificate of conduct
  • Physical Environment: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job duties.
  • Must have the ability to regularly walk or stand for extended periods of time
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to move quickly and safely
  • Will involve frequent, repetitive hand actions
  • Will be required to reach above shoulder height and below waist level
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and lifting techniques
  • Cold-temperature environment
