Meat Cutter (Experience welcome)

**Position Summary**

Fairway Market is looking for someone who is pro active with innovative & new ideas for the company. We are looking for position for the lower island stores only.

Fairway Market expectation: Smile, greet and be courteous to customers when on the retail floor, work with management and all other associates to provide a high level of customer service, be punctual, conduct yourself at all times in a professional business manner, assist in any way possible and as directed to provide for a clean and safe store environment. Maintain and operate a successful meat dept. including ordering and cleaning of retail & dept, merchandise assigned products according to company and department standards.

**Requirements**:Duties - duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

General
- Grind meats and slice cooked meats using powered grinders and slicing machines
- Cut, weigh, package, label and price meat, meat products, fish and seafood for sale
- Suggest complementary and/or alternative meat or fish products to consumers
- Inspect the quality of meat, fish and seafood, expiry dates and ensure proper product rotation
- Ensure the maintenance of equipment, displays and work area
- Receive and store merchandise in accordance with the company's established standards
- Comply with government health and safety standards and occupational health and safety standards.
- Observe all store rules and Company Policies.
- Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe Company dress code.
- Comply fully with all Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Perform all meat department duties according to Company Policies and Procedures.
- Perform other duties and assignments as directed.
- Greet all customers and provide them with prompt and highly friendly, courteous service or assistance.
- Lift boxes up to 50lbs.
- Long periods of standing.
- Working in a colder room.
- Experience with meat department responsibilities most welcomed, but not necessary. Fairway Market will train, to specifics.

Positions available: meat cutter/butcher

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
