About SWIM: At SWIM, we provide support, guidance, and empowerment to single mothers, helping them achieve a safe and secure future. Our events bring the community together, inspire learning, and celebrate the strength and resilience of single mothers.

Position Summary: SWIM is seeking motivated and organized individuals to join our Event Team as Event Assistants. This role supports the smooth execution of our upcoming major event, ensuring that logistics, attendees, and on-site operations run seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of event spaces, including signage, seating, audio-visual equipment, and displays.
  • Support registration and check-in of participants, ensuring a welcoming environment.
  • Help coordinate volunteers and on-site event staff, clarifying roles and responsibilities.
  • Liaise with vendors, sponsors, and community partners to support event needs.
  • Assist with program materials, handouts, and promotional items.
  • Capture event moments through photos and videos for documentation and social media.
  • Monitor and respond to participant inquiries during the event.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and accessibility requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in event support, volunteer coordination, or community engagement is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and multitasking.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Positive, proactive, and adaptable to changing event needs.

Additional Information:

Flexible schedule required for pre-event setup, event day(s), and post-event wrap-up. Opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event planning and community engagement.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $1.00-$2.00 per year
