Role Description

We are seeking a highly organized and technically proficient Senior Project Operations Coordinator to support engineering programs and supply chain activities within the automotive electronics sector. This role is integral to coordinating procurement, inventory control, documentation management, supplier communication, and project timeline execution across hardware, firmware, and production initiatives.

The successful candidate will work directly with engineering teams, manufacturing partners, suppliers, and customers to ensure project requirements are met, materials are procured on schedule, and all supporting documentation is maintained to automotive industry standards. Experience in a technical, engineering, or electronics-focused environment is strongly preferred.

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Project Operations Coordinator – Automotive Electronics, located at Lightwave Technology's headquarters in Montreal, QC.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Procurement & Supply Chain Support

  • Manage and execute component and material ordering for automotive electronic assemblies.

  • Prepare and maintain purchase orders with strict alignment to BOM revisions and engineering updates.

  • Monitor and track inventory across prototype, pilot, DV/PV, and production builds.

  • Follow up with suppliers regarding lead times, delivery schedules, order status, and delays.

  • Support supply chain readiness for DV/PV validation builds, production ramp-ups, and sample shipments.

Engineering & Project Coordination

  • Assist engineering teams with project timeline development, milestone tracking, and deliverable coordination.

  • Maintain controlled versions of documents, forms, engineering templates, test logs, and reports.

  • Facilitate communication across engineering, firmware, manufacturing, test, and quality teams.

  • Track supplier and customer action items, ensuring timely closure and documentation.

  • Coordinate change management activities including ECOs, BOM updates, and technical document revisions.

Customer & Supplier Communication

  • Provide clear and structured communication to customers regarding project status, timelines, order updates, and issue resolution.

  • Coordinate with suppliers to resolve discrepancies, request documentation, verify specifications, or escalate concerns.

  • Prepare concise reports, summaries, and presentations for management and engineering leadership.

Software & Technical Skills

  • Advanced Excel proficiency (complex formulas, pivot tables, data validation, analysis tools).

  • Experience with Jira for tracking engineering tasks, issues, and workflows.

  • Experience with Microsoft Project for managing timelines and Gantt charts.

  • Strong Microsoft Word skills for formal documentation and controlled templates.

  • Basic accounting or cost-tracking experience is considered an asset.

  • Familiarity with engineering documents, BOM structures, revision control, and technical data is advantageous.
