The role

As a Shipper/Receiver, you will work closely with the Shipping Department Team Lead, the Bindery and Shipping Supervisor, and other production teams to ensure that all the shipping goals are met with a high standard of quality.

This is an onsite role based in our North York (Thistle) location, working Monday to Friday from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. (Night Shift). As business needs dictate, you will be required to have the flexibility to work alternative hours and shifts.

Key responsibilities

  • Preparing paperwork for shipments, efficiently and accurately process, allocate and ship all customer orders and transfers
  • Load and unload carriers
  • Put away and stage materials
  • Package orders and ensure they are complete, accurate, and ready for delivery
  • Assist in stocking shelves and organizing the warehouse
  • Excellent computer skills for shipping systems.
  • Ability to work well with others with little or no supervision
  • Communicating any issues, questions or concerns clearly and in a timely manner to supervisors/managers.
  • Assisting with inventory counts and management
  • Inspect machinery before use to ensure it is working properly
  • Ensure full compliance with all operating, sanitation, and safety standards

Skills & experiences

  • 1+ years of experience in a shipping/receiving warehouse environment
  • Must have a Forklift certification, with previous work experience operating a powered vehicle (Forklift, Walkie Rider, Reach Truck, etc.)
  • Proven experience working with computerized shipping systems
  • Highly detail-oriented with a strong sense of integrity and reliability
  • Able to work within tight deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
  • Working environment requires standing for extended periods of time and lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have flexibility to work occasional overtime work and/or weekends during peak periods

Compensation:$22.00 CAD per hour
