Within the Consumers and Strategic Services Division, the Land Titles and Surveys Branch (LTS) ensures property rights are protected, programs are modernized, and registry services run efficiently.

Role Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director, Client Services and Support, the Team Lead, Training and Technical Support, is responsible for supervising and leading a team of professionals tasked with the development of a modernized approach to training and development that is grounded in adult learning principles. The application of this approach will help to support the achievement of a competent, consistent and credible organization and team.

As the Team Lead, Training and Technical Support, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Land Titles and Surveys by leading a team dedicated to learning and development, quality assurance, and digital transformation.

This position is ideal for a strategic thinker and collaborative leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is committed to improving services for Albertans. You will leverage subject matter experts to design and implement training programs grounded in adult education principles that reduce risk and associated costs, while enhancing skills, reducing errors and increasing confidence of our team members and the public.

Responsibilities included but not limited to:-

  • Lead and Inspire: Supervise a team of professionals, providing mentorship and coaching to foster growth and engagement.
  • Drive Learning Excellence: Design, implement, and evaluate training programs aligned with adult learning principles to build a skilled workforce.
  • Champion Quality: Establish and maintain quality assurance and control systems to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.
  • Modernize Services: Develop and maintain electronic tools and resources that improve client experience and support modernization initiatives.
  • Collaborate and Influence: Work across LTS and ministry teams to integrate best practices in learning, quality assurance, and digital communications.

To be successful in this role:-

  • High level of analytical skill is required when interfacing with all parties and stakeholders, as well as a clear understanding of all impacts to parties and stakeholders.
  • Creative problem solving is required to mitigate risk and/or seek resolution for management of ongoing issues.
  • Persuasiveness and ability to influence when formulating recommendations and providing consultation on learning policy and programs, and corporate initiatives.
  • Ability to work in ambiguity.
  • Provide guidance, direction and coaching to the full Land Titles and Surveys team.
  • Must have strong leadership skills and relationship-building, facilitation and project management skills, including procurement and contracting.
  • Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Considerable experience in training design, development, implementation and/or delivery, and evaluation.
  • Experience with Land Titles and Surveys services is an asset.
  • Experience developing and implementing e-based learning, tools and forms is an asset.

Qualifications

University degree in Education, Adult Education, Curriculum Development, Instructional Design or any other related field with minimum 4 years of related experience

Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

The Following will be considered Assets

  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Expertise in training design, development, and evaluation, including the ADDIE or similar models.
  • Strong project management and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience with e-learning tools and electronic resource development, like Captivate and Articulate.
  • Familiarity with Land Titles and Surveys services
