Overview
Our established client is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their finance team. This role is ideal for a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and contributing to process improvements that enhance financial accuracy and operational efficiency. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in preparing financial reports, supporting audit and tax requirements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and account reconciliations, investigating variances and providing actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and support external reporting requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and strengthen internal controls.
  • Contribute to special projects and system initiatives designed to enhance efficiency and financial transparency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • CPA designation (or candidate actively completing the program).
  • Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in accounting; exposure to manufacturing, construction, or distribution industries considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and strong working knowledge of Canadian GAAP (ASPE).
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with a proactive and detail-oriented approach.
