OVERVIEW
PURPOSE
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Senior Accountant is responsible for a broad range of accounting functions, including transactional processing, financial statement preparation, analysis, monitoring, cost ...
RESPONSIBILITIES
FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules. Prepare ad hoc financial reports to support evolving business needs and decision-making.
SUPPORT A/P
Provide backup support for accounts payable functions as needed. Provide support for external audits.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Perform other duties as required to support the finance team and organizational goals.
MANAGE A/R & A/P PROCESSES
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
COMPLIANCE
Ensure compliance with government reporting requirements and tax filings.
GENERAL LEDGER
Conduct detailed general ledger account review and reconciliations.
BUDGETS
Monitor departmental and program budgets to ensure alignment with financial targets.
REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE
5+ years of progressive accounting experience. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is an asset.
MANAGE WORKLOAD
Ability to work manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
TEAMWORK
Strong collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across teams.
MICROSOFT
Proficient in Microsoft 365, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
ANALYSIS
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
COMMUNICATION
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with sound judgement and a high level of responsibility.
CPA PROFESSIONAL
Professional accounting designation (CPA) required, combined with a university degree from an accredited post-secondary institution.
