Activities Coordinator

Job Overview
The Activities Coorsinator plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents in senior care settings. This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing engaging activities that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and physical wellness among residents. The Activities coordinator will work closely with our other activity coordinator, residents, and families to ensure that programs meet the diverse needs of individuals, particularly those with dementia or disabilities.
Duties
- Develop and implement a comprehensive activities program tailored to the interests and abilities of residents.
- Coordinate and schedule daily activities, ensuring a balanced mix of social, recreational, and therapeutic options.
- Lead group activities and facilitate individual engagement to encourage participation among all residents.
- Assess resident needs and preferences to create personalized activity plans.
- Collaborate with caregiving staff to ensure activities align with residents' care plans.
- Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback on activities.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and gather input for future programming.
- Provide training and support for other staff members involved in activity facilitation.
- Stay informed about best practices in senior care and adapt programs accordingly.
Skills
- Strong background in senior care settings such as assisted living or long term homes is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and team members.
- Experience in dementia care is highly valued to cater to the specific needs of residents with cognitive impairments.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy while working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Creative thinking skills to develop engaging activities that stimulate both mind and body.
- Experience working with persons with disabilities is a plus, ensuring inclusivity in all programming efforts.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple activities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
