As a Personal Training Counsellor, you will play a key role in helping new and existing members understand the value of our personal training programs, guiding them toward the right fitness solutions, and supporting them on their journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sell Personal Training packages to new and existing members.
  • Conduct fitness consultations, explain training options, and match members with the right trainer.
  • Build strong relationships with members and maintain a positive gym experience.
  • Achieve monthly sales targets while promoting a customer-first environment.
  • Provide follow-ups with leads, walk-ins, and trial pass guests.
  • Collaborate with the fitness and front-desk team to keep the department running smoothly.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong background in fitness and basic nutrition knowledge (to confidently guide members).
  • Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are a strong asset.
  • Proven past experience in sales is MANDATORY (any industry).
  • Reliable transportation – must own a car.
  • Ability to travel daily to the club location.
  • Must be able to work split shifts (morning + evening) when required.
  • Must be available to work weekends.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced fitness environment.

Preferred/Asset Qualifications

  • Personal Training certification (NASM, CanFitPro, ACE, ISSA, etc.) is an asset, not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of gym equipment, workout programming, and member motivation strategies.

Compensation

$3,097.60 – $5500 per month

(Earnings include base salary + commissions + performance bonuses.)

Duties

  • Develop and implement customized workout plans tailored to clients' goals, fitness levels, and health conditions.
  • Conduct one-on-one personal training sessions, ensuring proper technique and safety during exercises.
  • Lead engaging group fitness classes to promote community participation and overall wellness.
  • Assess clients' physical condition through fitness testing and body mechanics analysis.
  • Educate clients on proper exercise techniques, injury prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Track client progress and adjust training programs accordingly to optimize results.
  • Promote memberships and personal training services to prospective clients, contributing to the growth of the fitness program.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workout area and ensure all equipment is used safely and properly.
  • Stay current with the latest trends in fitness, sports coaching, and health science to provide innovative training solutions.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and body mechanics essential for designing effective training programs.
  • Proven experience in personal training, group fitness instruction, or teaching physical education.
  • Ability to motivate clients and foster a positive environment that encourages goal achievement.
  • Excellent communication skills for teaching exercise techniques and providing constructive feedback.
  • Sales skills related to fitness sales and promoting health club memberships or services.
  • Familiarity with gym equipment operation and safety protocols within a health club setting.
  • Ability to adapt programs for diverse populations with varying fitness levels and health conditions.

Pay: $17.60-$50.69 per hour
