Duties

  • Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a smooth flow of service from arrival to departure
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, and relay orders efficiently to the kitchen staff
  • Provide detailed menu descriptions, recommend wine pairings, and upsell specialty items to enhance the dining experience
  • Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation
  • Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering systems and manage open tabs using OpenTable or similar reservation platforms
  • Maintain cleanliness by bussing tables, resetting for new guests, and ensuring all dining areas meet sanitation standards
  • Address guest inquiries and resolve concerns promptly to ensure complete satisfaction and foster positive guest relations

Qualifications

  • Smart serve Qualified
  • Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, preferably in fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs or upscale restaurants
  • Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS, Micros POS, and cashiering procedures
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude and the ability to engage guests effectively
  • Culinary experience or food handling knowledge is highly desirable to better assist with menu questions and food safety practices
  • Demonstrated time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
  • Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Basic math skills for processing payments accurately and managing cash handling responsibilities
  • Familiarity with food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and proper food preparation techniques
  • Previous host/host or serving experience is a plus, along with knowledge of OpenTable reservation management systems
