The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various types of heavy construction equipment to support company projects. The Operator will perform tasks including excavation, grading, material handling, and other related duties, ensuring all work meets company standards and complies with safety regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, bulldozers, graders, skid steers, backhoes, and other machinery as required.
  • Conduct daily pre-operation inspections, check fluid levels, and perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Read and interpret site plans, grade stakes, and instructions from supervisors to complete tasks accurately.
  • Load, move, and place materials in designated locations while maintaining site safety.
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings to avoid hazards, underground utilities, and other equipment or personnel.
  • Follow company safety protocols, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), and immediately report unsafe conditions or equipment issues to the Supervisor.
  • Assist with site preparation, grading, trenching, excavation, and backfilling as required.
  • Ensure equipment is cleaned and properly stored at the end of each shift.
  • Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies related to heavy equipment operation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Employer from time to time.

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and other construction site conditions.
  • Requires extended periods of sitting, operating controls, and occasional manual labour.
  • May require overtime, weekends, or irregular hours depending on project needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
