Job Summary

Connections Community Services Society (CCSS) is seeking qualified and caring Early Childhood Educators (ECE) to join our on-call pool supporting our licensed childcare programs in Richmond. The ECE plays a key role in delivering high-quality early learning experiences that nurture children's curiosity, confidence, and development in a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate programs that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
  • Create a welcoming and engaging classroom atmosphere that fosters inclusion and belonging.
  • Supervise and interact positively with children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring safety and respect for all.
  • Support daily routines such as mealtimes, rest periods, and transitions.
  • Observe, document, and communicate children's progress and needs with the team and families.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and CCSS policies.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive and supportive work culture.

Qualifications

  • Valid Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate issued by the BC ECE Registry.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check for working with vulnerable populations.
  • Experience working with children in a licensed group care setting preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and growth.
  • Physically able to meet the demands of the position, including lifting up to 25 lbs.

Schedule & Availability

  • On-call/casual position with flexible hours based on program needs.
  • May be called in to cover staff absences, vacation, or peak periods.

Additional Information

  • Wage: $25.95/hour (based on qualifications and experience).
  • Membership in the BCGEU is a condition of employment.
