Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role located in Whitby, ON, for an Executive Chef. The Executive Chef will oversee kitchen operations, including menu development, food preparation, and inventory management. Responsibilities include supervising and training the culinary team, ensuring high-quality food presentation, adhering to safety and sanitation standards, and collaborating with event planners to meet client needs. The role also involves maintaining cost control, introducing innovative culinary concepts, and fostering a culture of excellence in the kitchen.

Qualifications

  • Advanced culinary skills, including menu planning, food preparation, and plating
  • Leadership experience, such as team management, staff training, and performance oversight
  • Proficiency in inventory management, cost control, and kitchen operations
  • Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Creativity and ability to design menus for diverse events, including weddings and corporate functions
  • Certification in Culinary Arts or equivalent work experience is preferred
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
