Description
As a HWCDSB ICT Co-op Student, you will support the school board's technology team by assisting with hardware and software troubleshooting, device setup, and user support. You will gain hands- on experience in a dynamic educational environment while contributing to the smooth operation of ICT services across schools and administrative offices.

Duties

  • Prepare and configure hardware and software for deployment in educational and administrative settings.
  • Perform system imaging and software installations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the deployment.
  • Provide user support and training on Windows 11 features and functionalities.
  • Accurately update Helpdesk tickets and resolutions, including asset information, in the Helpdesk ticketing System.
  • Use the Helpdesk ticketing system to manage daily work assignments and priority tickets, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
  • Provide training on HWCDSB endpoint devices and software to staff, both individually and in groups.
  • Recognize and escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Support Audio-Visual equipment across school board networks, including interactive projectors and sound systems in classrooms, meeting rooms, and auditoriums.
  • Duties as assigned.

Projects:

  • Windows 11 Hardware Refresh Rollout.
  • iPad and Computer System configurations and deploys.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a Computer Science, Information Technology, or related post- secondary program.
  • Strong understanding of Windows operating systems and computer hardware.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Maturity in handling confidential information.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for travel to various sites within the HWCDSB geographic area.
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 10Kg (e.g., computers, monitors, UPS units).
  • Comfortable working at heights and on ladders.
