Note: This position may work out of the Kitchener West or Hamilton Probation and Parole offices.
About the jobIn this role, you will:
- prepare and maintain budget forecasts
- track and project monthly expenditures
- use financial information systems, working with regional office and enterprise services partners to address issues and respond to finance related requests
- review expense reports and invoices for accuracy of coding and information
- create and maintain documents, spreadsheets and various financial reports
- provide advice and guidance to managers and staff on pay and benefits and human resources
- apply polices and legislation, accessing Ontario Public Service resources to resolve problems and ensuring accurate information is provided
- prepare and maintain relevant personnel, attendance and payroll related documents using WIN and providing support to managers and staff, proactively addressing and resolving problems that arise
- prepare and process area program contracts and oversee reporting and financial compliance per contract management policies and procedures
- maintain accurate and up-to-date records, while keeping strict confidentiality
- provide support services for the management team
Financial and Human Resources Expertise:
- You have experience in financial administration, estimating and budgeting.
- You have analytical and problem solving skills to resolve discrepancies and to ensure accuracy of financial and human resources documents and information.
- You have an understanding of collective agreements, directives, legislation and policies to provide interpretations, advice, guidance and application on financial services, human resources and contract management.
- You have knowledge of computerized databases, human resources and financial information systems.
- You have effective communication and interpersonal skills to provide support services for the management team
- You can maintain confidentiality and ensure information is only shared as appropriate.
- You have reasoning skills and can work independently, prioritizing your work to perform a variety of tasks with conflicting deadlines.
- You have skills in developing and working with spreadsheets and word processing software packages.
- You have knowledge of general office practices and procedures.
