We are seeking an experienced Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) – Chemistry to join our laboratory team on a one year fixed term contract. This role is focused primarily on test validation and quality assurance, with Roche analyzers. This is a full-time 1 year fixed term position Monday - Friday (Morning shifts)

Responsibility

  • Conduct primary validation and review of patient test results to ensure accuracy, completeness, and clinical relevance.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Roche chemistry analyzers and related instrumentation.
  • Perform quality control (QC), calibration, and maintenance procedures as required.
  • Investigate and resolve analytical issues, instrument errors, and QC failures.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality systems.
  • Document all testing, validation, and maintenance activities accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, pathologists, and other laboratory staff to support workflow efficiency and quality improvement.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and proficiency testing programs as required.
  • Support training and mentorship of junior staff when needed.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION

  • Must be registered with the CMLTO in good standing.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical chemistry.
  • Mandatory handson experience with Roche analyzers and systems.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

Responsible to keep current with any pertinent and applicable laws and regulations.

You must attend and document attendance at relevant continuing education programs as mandated by the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO) and other accreditation bodies as required.

You will keep up to date of trends and continuously compare internal processes with industry standards. This will support the company's core value of the pursuit of excellence through benchmarking.
