We're looking for 1 HR Intern for the summer of 2026. The position will be a hybrid based role where you will work remotely and join us at The Scotts Miracle-Gro corporate headquarters in Mississauga Ontario, just west of Toronto. 

The hourly rate for this position at Scotts will generally fall between $ per hour and is paid weekly.

Our internship program is designed to cultivate the professional growth of students through a dynamic work environment. You will report to the Sr HR Generalist and will have the opportunity to gain valuable exposure and experience across a variety of HR functions such as Recruiting, Payroll, Benefits, Operations, over the course of 14 weeks. We are committed to your development but will also rely on you to bring new knowledge, new ideas, and innovation into our organization. 

Key responsibilities

In addition to helping with day to day aspects of HR, you will focus on 3 projects.

1. Onboarding Optimization

  • Process Audit: working in collaboration with different stakeholders, map existing workflows, identify current onboarding gaps and propose solutions to close them.

  • Content Creation: review existing new hire material and build step-by-step Manager Toolkits (logistics, orientation, meetings, training, check-ins).

  • Evaluation: design a new-hire survey and a data-driven report to measure onboarding effectiveness.

2. Strategic L&D

  • Trend Research: Benchmark industry best practices and emerging Learning and Development methods.

  • Gap Analysis: Based on identified gaps in L&D, provide recommendations on appropriate training / L&D programs.

  • Metrics: Develop a model to show program effectiveness.

3. Finance Career Pathways: Research and build a formal program to help finance staff meet the experience and educational requirements for the CPA.

What you'll need to be successful:

  • Pursuing a BA/BCOM degree or diploma in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication in English and French - bilingualism (EN/FR) is an asset

  • Experience using Google Suite

  • Organizational skills and ability to balance multiple projects, task and priorities

  • Possess strong analytical skills and ability to use data to identify insights and recommendations;

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and thrive in a team environment

  • Passion and interest in Human Resources and/or CPG industry
