The Opportunity:

The Building Maintenance Operator 2 is responsible for the coordination, assignment and performance of

preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment, security services, and completion of demand

work orders.

What you will do:

• Coordinate, perform, assign, recommend and record preventative maintenance and repair operations on

architectural, mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Responsible for the beautification of the surrounding properties as well as coordinating and performing

minor renovations and repairs as required.

  • Coordinate the daily functions of the Building Maintenance Operator including the assignment and closure

of work orders.

  • Make recommendations on the use of Contractors for the performance of specialized work. Assist in

communicating and coordinating the efforts of Contractors for the purposes of performing maintenance as

required.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of a Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Responsible for maintaining an accurate and current inventory of tools and supplies required for day-to-day

operations.

  • Work safely and in compliance with relevant statutes and regulations and within the safe work procedures

and directives as established by the District.

  • Available for stand by duties and shift work as required
  • Deal with customer service requirements, inquires and complaints
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What you will need:

• Completion of 1 year community college in a building operations and maintenance program plus 1 to 2

years' experience in commercial building maintenance OR Grade 12 plus 3 years previous related

experience.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the maintenance and operation of commercial and residential

building mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Must demonstrate initiative, ability to receive and provide direction and work with minimal supervision.
  • Good oral and written communications skills with related computer skills.
  • A valid Ontario driver's license.
