**Maintenance Worker**

**The Opportunity**

Reporting the Manager, Environmental Services, this job performs minor general repairs and ensures the
safety of residents and staff by checking, testing and reporting on conditions of a variety of equipment found
within the facility in accordance with the standards established through the Ministry of Health and Long Term
Care (MOHLTC) and the policies and procedures of the Pines.

**What you will do: What you will need**:

- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as

required including plumbing, minor electrical, drywall
repair and painting
- Maintain the mechanical room, maintenance shop,

and other maintenance areas in a clean, organized &
safe manner
- Monitor and perform routine maintenance and minor

repairs of the building heating, ventilations and air
conditioning systems
- Monitor and maintain building security systems,

indoor and outdoor lighting
- Outdoor work as needed i.e. snow removal,

gardening, and sweeping
- Secondary school diploma plus completion of

an additional vocational program of up to one
year, preferably in general building
maintenance or equivalent
- Minimum 1-year previous experience

including a working knowledge of basic
plumbing, electrical, or general repair working
an industrial / residential environment plus
on-the-job orientation and training of up to 3
months
- Knowledge of the Ontario Fire Code would be

considered an asset
** What we are offering**

This is a **permanent full-time** **opportunity** at the District. The hourly compensation range for this role is
