In operation for 30 years, the LDI Mine is one of only two known pure palladium sources in North America. Palladium contributes to a cleaner global environment, with its leading use in catalytic converters that reduce harmful emissions from gas-powered and hybrid vehicles.

The LDI Mine features a unique, ore body and modern infrastructure, including underground and surface mining and milling operations. Safety Coordinator

LDI mine is looking for a motivated individual to join our Safety team. Reporting to the Safety Superintendent, you will work a 7 days on / 7 days off schedule at the Lac des Iles Mine site.

The successful candidate will be responsible for interacting with all departments on the mine site including both underground and surface on various safety initiatives and issues. The responsibilities will include but are not limited to risk assessments, hazard identification, management of change process, Mine Rescue, safety auditing and entry, JOHSC, emergency response, planned inspections, and IRS with primary importance being focused on ensuring that safety regulations and procedures are followed and respected.

The ideal applicant will possess an Occupational Health & Safety background related to the position with a minimum of 5 years' experience in Mining Health & Safety. The candidate will also have acquired their Common Core for First Line Underground Mine Supervisor Certificate.

Strong communication, interpersonal skills and the aptitude for creating and maintaining a good work atmosphere while being a motivator for the personnel in his/her department are desired characteristics. Other required skills would be proficient in the usage of Microsoft Office products including MS Word, Power Point and MS Excel.

The position offers a competitive remuneration package consisting of base salary, health & medical insurance, retirement savings plan and travel allowance. Accommodations and meals are provided while at the mine site. On your off duty time enjoy various outdoor and indoor extracurricular activities.
