Email Marketing Specialist

**This is a remote position for candidates all over Canada. There is a chance we will move into an office in the GTA, however, we will always offer WFH employment.

We are hiring a full-time Lifecycle Marketing Specialist to strategize, plan, write, collaborate on design, deploy, analyze, and own the email and SMS marketing efforts for our clients to help them reach their business goals.
Founded in 2015, we are a 20+ person Shopify Plus digital marketing agency working remotely and based in Toronto. We do everything related to digital marketing including, but not limited to; paid and organic social media, email/SMS marketing and automation, website design & development, influencer marketing, branding and design, Ecommerce & Amazon management, US based fulfillment, and online customer service, for clients across the world in industry verticals ranging from skincare, apparel, beauty, restaurants, home decor, CPGs, baby products, health and wellness, real estate, accounting, and more.
Some of our clients have been featured in Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Forbes, Business Insider, GOOP, and are sold in major retail chains like Walmart, Target, and Loblaws, and we even have a client who hosted the White House Correspondents Dinner
WORK WITH US AND YOU WOULD BE:
- Learning & Leading Subject Matter Expertise: being the person who knows everything there is about the email and SMS marketing channel, the accompanying softwares (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Attentive etc.), as well as best practices, industry updates, and trends, and supporting the team with your expertise to effectively provide In Social's "Full Circle Approach to Digital Marketing" across all client deliverables.
- Owning Email & SMS Success: owning the strategy, planning, message topics and content, list management, sign-up units, segmentation, and optimizations across a portfolio of email clients, while also being responsible for their overall growth, success, and results derived from them (open, click, revenue rates, etc.)
- Owning the Email & SMS Calendars: leveraging channel insights provided by our Digital Performance analyst, as well as insights from our Director of Brand strategy, and client input to create monthly lifecycle marketing calendars that include individual message strategy, A/B tests, message type, goal, copy, inspo, layout, graphic direction, and more, and ensuring the calendars are deployed on schedule and below budget.
- Managing Email & SMS Creative Efforts: as part of owning the lifecycle calendars, collaborating with our Design team to produce the creative deliverables for all lifecycle messages needed by providing graphic direction, content, assets, copy, and layout, while also supporting the building and/development, testing, and QA of each message or flow being deployed.
- Analyzing and Optimizing: working alongside our Digital Performance Analyst, as well as other strategic team members, to analyze individual account insights, as well as overarching portfolio trends to catch issues, identify opportunities, and build plans to optimize
- Contributing to the Full Circle Approach: being a team player and collaborating across all service verticals to understand, adapt, strategize, and deliver email and SMS efforts that consider the entire customer journey, in an effort to deliver the best results possible to our clients.
- Continuous Improvement: always improving your skill set, knowledge, and performance through self-development, training courses, webinars, as well as collaborating with, and taking feedback from, our Director of Brand strategy
- Task Coordination: ensuring that all project tasks are completed within budget and on time, and collaborating with the Account and Project Managers to make adjustments to roadmaps if needed
YOU WILL BE MEASURED AGAINST:
- Your portfolio results such as open rates, click through rates, revenue, deliverability etc. (quantitative)
- Your ability to produce, create, ideate, collaborate, and deploy calendars within given timelines and budgets (quantitative)
- Your strategic ability to flag/solve problems (qualitative)
- Your teamwork - everyone relies on each other for success (qualitative)
TO WORK WITH US YOU SHOULD HAVE:
- At least 2 years of experience working in digital marketing
- At least 1- 2 years of experience working in email marketing in some capacity
- At least 1 year of experience working in Ecommerce
- Experience using Figma to design emails is a bonus
- Experience developing, and deploying email campaigns
- A portfolio of examples that show how your skills drove results
- Exceptional copywriting skills, specifically for email
- Experience with ESPs like Klaviyo and Attentive
- An understanding of how to gather and use analytics to inform digital strategies
- An obsession with checking the open and click rates, or refreshing your screen to watch the placed order rate rise
- Exceptional attention to detail and include the code isems2025 in your cover letter
