Position Overview 

We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and highly motivated Property Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and preparing financial reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with our property management team to ensure accurate billing and collection of rents.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and journal entries.
• Monitor and analyze property operating expenses, including management fees, taxes, utilities, and maintenance costs.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for multiple properties.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements for assigned properties.
• Prepare annual operating cost reconciliations for commercial properties.
• Support our annual audit process and respond to audit inquiries.
• Provide accurate and timely financial reports to senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ Years of Property Accounting experience.
• Understanding of general accounting principles and practices, specifically IFRS.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work well as a member of a team.
• Experience with Yardi Voyager property management software is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with advanced functions is preferred.
• CPA designation not required but would be considered an asset.
