Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Snow Plow Operator to efficiently clear snow and ice from designated roadways, parking lots, and walkways during winter months. The ideal candidate will have experience operating snow removal equipment and possess mechanical knowledge to ensure safe and effective operation. This role is vital for maintaining safe access and mobility for our residents during inclement weather conditions, contributing to community safety and operational continuity.

Duties

  • Operate snow blower, ice picks, and shovels to remove snow and ice from doorways, sidewalks, emergency exits, and walkways.
  • Attend Silverwood Manor during storms to ensure emergency exits are clear at all times.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on plow equipment to ensure optimal functioning
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and other maintenance equipment for minor repairs or adjustments as needed
  • Assist with landscaping, gardening, or irrigation tasks during off-season periods to support overall site maintenance
  • Support construction or landscape maintenance projects as required, utilizing mechanical knowledge and various tools
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols during snow removal operations to prevent accidents or injuries
  • Salt the walkways, doorways and driveways often
  • Communication with manager required

Qualifications

  • Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic construction or landscape maintenance techniques
  • Ability to work in cold weather conditions for extended periods
  • Strong attention to safety procedures and operational protocols
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
