We're seeking a highly organized and experienced
Accounts Receivable Specialist
to support our client's finance team at their downtown Ottawa location. This is a key role in maintaining smooth financial operations, ensuring accuracy in billing and collections, and contributing to process improvements. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and takes pride in delivering reliable financial results.

Downtown Ottawa – On-site

Contract:
2-month contract (full-time)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, payment processing, account reconciliations, and collections for multiple entities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in QuickBooks Online and the company's CRM system.
  • Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up with clients and internal teams to ensure timely payments.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, billing issues, or payment disputes professionally.
  • Prepare and analyze accounts receivable reports, aging schedules, and cash flow projections.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, including accounting and operations staff, to ensure smooth billing and payment processes.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting as required.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for AR processes to optimize efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in accounts receivable, preferably in professional services, healthcare, or other high-volume environments.
  • Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online (QBO) — this is a must.
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage client accounts and communications.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with professionalism in handling sensitive client situations.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Must be able to work on-site in downtown Ottawa for the duration of the contract.
