The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various printing presses, including flexo presses, to produce high-quality printed materials. This role requires a strong understanding of screen printing, prepress processes, color management, and layout design. The Press Operator will ensure that all print jobs meet quality standards and specifications while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

Duties

  • Set up and operate different types of printing presses, including flexo press, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Manage prepress tasks such as layout design, typography, and color management to prepare files for printing.
  • Oversee the entire printing process, monitoring quality control parameters to ensure accurate color reproduction and image fidelity.
  • Perform routine maintenance on printing equipment and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct quality checks throughout production runs to detect defects or inconsistencies.
  • Adjust press settings based on job specifications and material requirements.
  • Utilize skills in graphic design and print advertising to assist in creating or modifying artwork files as needed.
  • Operate auxiliary equipment such as forklifts when necessary for material handling.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.

Experience

  • Proven experience operating flexo presses in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of prepress processes, plate and die mounting including layout design, typography, and color management.
  • Familiarity with quality control procedures is a plus.
  • Experience with graphic design or print advertising projects is advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 35 per week

Work Location: In person
