Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Printing Press Operator with strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail to join our Hanlan plant. This role is key to ensuring the efficient production of high-quality printed film while maintaining safety and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate flexographic printing presses used for printed polyethylene film.
  • Ensure accurate colour matching, print registration, and consistent product quality.
  • Perform quality checks, monitor ink viscosity, and make adjustments as needed.
  • Conduct routine press maintenance and cleaning to prevent downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of production output and press performance.
  • Collaborate with extrusion and converting teams to meet production goals.
  • Follow all plant safety and housekeeping standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience operating a flexographic printing press (film or packaging manufacturing preferred).
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with ability to troubleshoot minor press issues.
  • Understanding of colour theory, press setup, and quality control.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Knowledge of blown film materials (LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE) is an asset.
