We're looking for
Shift Supervisors
to be
responsible for the direction and leadership of production staff and service administration. The incumbent must effectively and efficiently manage the development and direction of the operational team to meet production targets and technical productivity. He/she must ensure that all departments under his/her control are compliant with all applicable legislation, including but not limited to Occupational Health and Safety. Success in this position requires strong technical ability, teamwork, and a commitment to safety.

Required:

• Ability to commute: Camrose, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work Schedule: Monday to Friday; Night shift rotation; Weekends as needed
• Must Be: Flexible to work varied shifts, weekends, overtime, or on-call assignments as required
• Shift: Must be able to work 10-hour shifts

Qualifications
Essential Job Functions

• Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints and grievances
• Promote PPCA safety management system and zero injury culture
• Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the coating process, e.g. inspectors, labourers, etc.
• Provide motivation for employees, increasing morale
• Increase worker efficiency and production rates
• Monitor and assess employee performance
• Ensure that work orders are completed in a timely fashion
• Work with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments
• Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for training
• Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules and other records / reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
• Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Production experience preferred.
• Direct working knowledge of operations.
• Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering, as well as inventory control of these items.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Accurate and highly analytical.
• Experience in supervising and mentoring.
• Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
• Knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools, equipment and procedures utilized with pipe.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions which are applicable to the work.
• Ability to work overtime.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test.

Physical Demands

• Raise/lower or move objects horizontally.
• Frequent wrist/hand motions.
• Ability to respond quickly to sounds.
• Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
• Visual acuity required for accuracy and thoroughness of work.
• Standing/walking for more than 90% of shift, including long distances.
• Ability to work in extreme weather.

Work Environment:

• Active industrial shop with exposure to dust, noise, varying temperatures, and heavy machinery.
• Frequent use of PPE including gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and dust masks as required.

Education & Certifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, or one year community college preferred.
