**Organization Description**:
The Jeanne & Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre is located in Camrose, Alberta on the University of Alberta, Augustana Campus, approximately 80 km south of Edmonton.
Reporting directly to the Front of House Manager, the Event Duty Supervisor oversees the Front of House operations at Lougheed Centre during an event at the facility. This involves supervision of FOH volunteers, concession/bar and box office staff, and liaising with theatre user groups, theatre technicians and stage management during an event. The Event Duty Supervisor will be also be responsible for the cash handling, reconciliation and deposit at the end of every event for bar and merchandise sales.
**Primary Front of House Responsibilities**:
- The Event Duty Supervisor will be the key Front of House contact person for the patrons of the theatre and the external individuals and organizations.
- Leads volunteer duty and safety meeting preshow, ensuring theatre policy and procedures for emergencies and audience control are upheld to ensure the comfort and safety of patrons
- Supervises and coordinates Front of House Volunteers during an event
- Supervises bar staff and activity, ensuring bar operation during an event is going smoothly, and that all bartender duties are completed after the bar reconciliation is complete.
- Distribute Front of House Bar and Merchandise floats upon staff and volunteer arrival
- If needed, assists the box office attendant on shift in the processing of in-person ticket sales
- Mediates customer complaints and resolves problems quickly
- Calculates and compiles reconciliations of cash deposits and floats at end of shift
- Processes all related event paperwork
**Physical Demands**
- Able to lift 30 lbs.
- Long periods of standing
**Working Conditions and Environment**
- Performing Arts Venue
- Majority of shifts are evening and weekends
**Skills Required**:
- Completion of Grade 12
- Cash handling experience required
- Experience in dealing with the public in a customer service capacity
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, leadership abilities and initiative
- Basic computer skills, including Windows and Microsoft Office
- Have an inherently positive nature and demeanor
**Assets**:
- ProServe Certification
- First aid training
- Daytime and weekend availability
- Familiarity with activities and functions of a performing arts venue
**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 4-12 per week
**Salary**: $18.86 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
