Blackcomb Snowmobile, Dog sled, Mountain Dining, Snowshoe, Snowcoach, Sleigh Rides and Whistler ATV has been offering world class tours since 1991.

We are a well-established Adventure Tourism business looking for someone to join our operations team. The operations manager will report directly to the owners and work with both operations and reservations to ensure the best possible client experience.

As a Year round operator we are looking for a full time, year round adventure enthusiast looking to take their previous experience and put it to use with an ever expanding and creative product base. We are looking for a team player with the same vision that we have while contributing through their own previous adventure tourism experience.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating all aspects of daily tours; bookings, machines, guides, transportation
  • Providing communications and Staffing of ATV/Snowmobile guides & Scheduling
  • Provide risk assessment of technical procedures
  • Provide Trip Leader supervision and management
  • Ensure a high level of service standard is met by all staff
  • Client liaison -- to liaise with clients and provide feedback to help marketing efforts
  • Understand and role model company policy and standards in every aspect of functions and tasks
  • Assist the management team in the development of new products and methods
  • Identify inefficiencies and help develop sound alternatives
  • Human resource management on an ongoing basis is a huge aspect of this role

Requirements:

  • Must have previous management experience in adventure tourism related industry; rafting, zipline, or snowmobile
  • Background in Adventure tourism; guiding, risk management, communications, first aid, Avalanche skills
  • Strong communication skills are a must
  • Thorough, on the spot decision making in a fast-paced environment is a necessary skill.
  • Thorough understanding of commercial guiding standards
  • Computer literate, online booking systems, HR communication and timesheet systems, microsoft
  • Passion for Adventure tourism, love working with people and the outdoors

Job Type: Full-time

Experience:

  • Adventure tourism recreation management degree
  • Minimum 2 years work experience in adventure tourism related field

Licence:

  • 80-hour or higher Wilderness or Occupational First-Aid preferred
  • Class IV unrestricted Driver's license an asset

We are open to both full time year round as well as seasonal contract work. Season contract work is ideal for those in the Adventure tourism industry that might work between 2 seasonal operations in order to achieve full time year round work. We prefer full time year round. Hourly, Salary, bonuses based on experience and will discuss at interview.

Pay: $25.00-$32.00 per year
