We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Permit Coordinator to manage the preparation, submission, tracking, and approval of permits required for our projects across Ontario and other Provinces. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, a solid understanding of municipal and provincial permitting processes, and the ability to work efficiently with multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, submit, and track permit applications to municipalities, conservation authorities, utility companies, provincial ministries, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Review drawings, plans, and project documentation for compliance with Ontario regulations and permitting requirements.
  • Monitor the status of permit submissions and follow up with authorities to ensure timely approvals.
  • Maintain accurate records of all permit-related documentation and approvals.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (project managers, engineers, site supervisors) to gather required information.
  • Communicate requirements, timelines, and approval conditions to project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Ontario legislation, including the Ontario Building Code, municipal bylaws, and relevant provincial acts.
  • Address permit-related issues or revisions as needed.
  • Support project scheduling by forecasting permit timelines and flagging potential delays.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in permitting, planning, construction coordination, environmental compliance, or related fields.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple applications simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings is an asset.

  • Post-secondary education in construction, engineering, planning, or a related field is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Ontario municipal processes, the Ontario Building Code, and provincial permitting bodies (e.g., MECP, MTO, Conservation Authorities).

Work Hours and Requirements

9AM-5PM : Monday, Wednesday and Fridays

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
