Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team in a fast-paced restaurant environment at The Butternut Tree. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and cooking, with experience in meal preparation and food handling. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and presentation of our dishes while maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness.

Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and restaurant standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and assembling dishes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and cooking equipment.
  • Follow food safety guidelines to ensure safe food handling practices are adhered to at all times.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
  • Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.
  • Help train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role within the food industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, meal preparation, and food handling practices.
  • Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools, as well as safety regulations in the restaurant environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards helping others in the kitchen.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
