Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for an Administrative Assistant at the Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary. The role involves providing day-to-day administrative and operational support to the CEO and team, scheduling and managing calendars, coordinating meetings and events, maintaining records, and preparing documents for internal and external use. The Assistant will be based in Calgary, AB, with opportunities to work from home as needed.

Qualifications

  • Administrative and organizational skills, including scheduling, record-keeping, and managing correspondence
  • Authentic knowledge and respect for Indigenous culture and traditions, including languages and Ceremony
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports, emails, and documents
  • Proficiency in tools and software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Workspace, or similar platforms
  • Interpersonal and teamwork abilities for liaising with team members, community stakeholders, and external partners
  • Experience in event coordination or logistics is an asset
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn about Indigenous communities, cultures, and traditions
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • A diploma or equivalent experience in administration, management, or a related field is preferred
