The InPost Newstrade division specialises in final-mile delivery for newspaper publishers and magazine distributors, covering 75% of the UK and Ireland with a 45% market share. Operating from 36 locations, it delivers almost 1bn newspapers, magazines, and collectibles to around 21,000 customers. The division includes core final-mile operations, magazine primary distribution, corporate distribution, outsourced retail consultancy, and airside media placement.

About The Role
The
Head of Commercial
will be responsible for executing the commercial strategy of InPost Newstrade. This senior leadership role combines strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and strong stakeholder engagement to drive business growth, profitability, and long-term partnerships.
You will lead commercial negotiations, develop new revenue streams, and oversee strategic partnerships with publishers, distributors, retailers, and wider stakeholders. The role also requires close collaboration with internal teams to deliver our strategic objectives.
What You'll Be Doing
Strategic Leadership
- Support the Managing Director to develop and lead on implementation the commercial strategy for InPost Newstrade aligned with overall business goals.
- Lead conduit for financial planning and commercial forecasting, including pricing, margin management, and cost optimisation.
- Build business cases for new initiatives, ensuring strong ROI and alignment with company objectives.
Commercial Management & Partnerships
- Lead negotiations with publishers, distributors, and retailers to secure strategic contracts and long-term partnerships.
- Working in partnership with Legal and Finance, own end to end contract management (negotiations, financial modelling through to close).
- Oversee performance monitoring, contract compliance, and commercial risk management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with key internal stakeholders to deliver customer-centric, scalable commercial solutions.
- Collaborate with finance to ensure accurate reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Work closely with product and innovation teams to translate customer needs into commercial opportunities.
Leadership & Team Development
- Set clear objectives, performance metrics, and development pathways for direct reports.
- Represent the business at senior-level industry forums, conferences, and customer meetings.

- Proven track record in a senior commercial leadership role (Head of Commercial or similar).
- Strong background in logistics, retail, or publishing distribution sectors (preferably news/magazine).
- Deep understanding of B2B partnership models and commercial contract negotiation.
- Contract negotiation experience is a must.
- Strong financial and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at C-suite level.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
