Merovitz Potechin LLP is seeking a Litigation Law Clerk to join our growing team.

Summary Of Position The ideal candidate will assist lawyers with a wide variety of litigation matters, including civil and commercial litigation as well as estates litigation.

Work Includes, But Is Not Limited To

• Drafting documents
• Assembly of motion records, affidavits, other court documents as required
• Arranging for service of documents
• Court filing
• Open and update files and prepare documents in the ACL software
• Complete the Litigation checklist for each file
• Coordinate Bring Forwards (BFs)
• Retainer payment requests
• Ensuring retainer agreement is sent and signed

This is a full-time permanent opportunity that offers a great work atmosphere, opportunity for growth and a challenging environment.

Required Qualifications

• Must have 3-5 years of litigation, legal assistant or law clerk experience
• Strong familiarity of Ontario Rules of Civil Procedure
• Proficiency with ACL Automated Civil Litigation software
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Superior interpersonal skills to interact with employees, lawyers, clients and external agencies
• Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision
• Professional, responsive and positive work attitude
• Ability to maintain filing systems and basic databases
• Meticulous records maintenance skills.
