Job Summary

Rypac Metal Recycling Ltd. is seeking a reliable, safety-minded, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Scale Operator / Office Administrator. In this role, you will oversee the weighing and documenting of all inbound and outbound scrap metal loads. Additionally, you will be responsible for completing purchase transactions while providing exceptional customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Scale Operation & Material Processing

  • Operate inbound and outbound truck scales to accurately weigh materials.

  • Document vehicle and load information in accordance with procedures and regulations.

  • Direct drivers and customers to proper yard locations for unloading and loading.

  • Coordinate with yard staff to complete purchase transactions.

Customer Service & Transactions

  • Provide professional, friendly, and timely service to customers.

  • Answer questions regarding pricing, accepted materials, and procedures.

  • Facilitate payments and maintain accurate transaction records.

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.

Administrative Support

  • Perform general office duties including phone reception, data entry, filing, and document management.

  • Assist with maintaining organized records and preparing management reporting needs.

  • Respond to emails from existing and prospective customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with team members and clients.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and data management.
  • Basic math, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and the ability to learn industry software.
  • Professional demeanor with good phone etiquette and interpersonal skills. This position offers an engaging work environment where organizational excellence and effective communication are valued highly for the success of our team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 80 per week
