Primary Purpose Of Position
The Yard Coordinator will play a key role in supporting our demolition sites across Calgary and surrounding areas. Reporting to the General Superintendent, this individual will be responsible for transporting tools, equipment, and materials between our yard, job sites, and client locations. The role requires strong knowledge of the Calgary area, the ability to operate various types of construction equipment (including skid steers), and a hands-on, solution-oriented approach.. This individual will manage day-to-day yard operations, coordinate with site teams, and ensure all equipment is maintained, tracked, and ready for use.

Job Duties

  • Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
  • Pick up supplies from vendors or other shops and deliver to job sites as needed.
  • Assist in setting up equipment or materials on-site under the direction of the General Superintendent.
  • Operate skid steers and other small equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform basic maintenance or troubleshooting on tools and machinery when needed.
  • Load and secure attachments, ensuring compliance with load safety standards
  • Keep yard and equipment organized, clean, and ready for use.
  • Communicate effectively with the General Superintendent for daily dispatch and task updates.
  • Always follow safety procedures while on-site and in transit.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and inventory movements.
  • Assist with general labour tasks in the yard or on-site as required.

Requirements

  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with clean driving record.
  • Strong knowledge of Calgary and surrounding areas.
  • Experience operating skid steers and similar construction equipment.
  • Mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot or fix basic issues with tools and equipment.
  • Previous experience in construction, demolition, or a related field preferred.
  • Able to lift and move heavy materials (50+ lbs) regularly.
  • Experience operating and overseeing use of skid steers and other construction equipment.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Must be punctual and dependable.
  • Willingness to travel to various job sites.

Work Conditions

  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment will be required (e.g. hard-hat, safety boots, etc.).
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue and to effectively jump, sprint or throw an object.
  • Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
  • Work is primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Frequent driving and loading/unloading materials.
  • Physical labour and repetitive tasks.
  • Fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
