We are looking for an experienced AR/AP Supervisor who understands the unique requirements of pipeline construction and can support our teams with accuracy, leadership, and strong financial process management.

Position Overview

The AR/AP Supervisor oversees the daily operations of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all project-related financial transactions. This role plays a key part in maintaining cost accuracy, supporting project billing, monitoring vendor compliance, and bridging communication between accounting, field teams, and project management.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable

• Manage all billing processes, including progress billing, T&M, and unit-rate billing
• Ensure invoices include proper backup: LEMs, equipment logs, materials, subcontractor documentation
• Oversee collections, and customer account reconciliations
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of receipts and application of payments
• Assist with Intercompany billing
• Track holdbacks and ensure compliance with client requirements
• Monitor AR aging, follow up on overdue accounts, and manage client billing issues
• Maintain compliance with MSA and contract requirements (WCB, insurance, COR, lien releases)

Accounts Payable

• Supervise AP processing, including vendor invoices, coding, approvals, and payments
• Ensure compliance with company policies and tax requirements (GST/PST/HST)
• Help resolve vendor discrepancies and maintain strong supplier relationships
• Oversee weekly payment runs and support cash-flow forecasting
• Ensure proper cost coding to projects, spreads, equipment units, cost codes, and divisions
• Assist Finance Manager with AP month-end functions, including accruals and reconciliations

Leadership & Supervision

• Supervise and mentor AR/AP team members
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and strengthen internal controls
• Support audits by preparing schedules and providing documentation
• Work collaboratively with operations and the broader finance team to resolve issues
• Assist with additional finance projects as needed
• Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback
• Prioritize workloads and support the team during high-volume periods

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on Project based AR/AP
• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or lead role (AR, AP, or project accounting)
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial controls
• Experience with ERP/accounting system, specifically Explorer Eclipse
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formatting, reconciliations)
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Assets

• Experience working with large pipeline clients (TC Energy, Enbridge, Coastal GasLink, etc.)
• Experience in multi-entity accounting or intercompany transactions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $57,200.00-$89,440.00 per year
