Jones & Company Wine Merchants is Winnipeg's largest private wine store. Established in 1999, Jones & Company has grown to be the hub for some of the most distinct and sought after wines in Manitoba. We are also the education centre for wine in Manitoba with 5 Sommeliers serving our customers daily. We are looking to add a Sommelier & Social Media Director to our dynamic team of wine enthusiasts.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent Jones & Company by always providing the highest standard of customer service.
  • Support fellow team members by sharing knowledge and assisting in customer interactions.
  • Help customers with wine pairing and event preparation.
  • Lead and host tasting seminars both internally and publicly
  • Create and Post to social media accounts using Canva and Later to maximize efficiency and reach.
  • Represent Jones & Company values and team accurately on all Social Media platforms
  • Create and launch email marketing campaigns to drive sales to our client base via Mailchimp
  • Perform POS functions quickly and accurately.
  • Provide knowledgeable advice on all Jones & Company programs, events, classes and special offers.
  • Address all customer concerns with professionalism keeping customer satisfaction as the top priority. Partner with store management to address elevated concerns.

Qualifications:

  • WSET3 or Sommelier Designation mandatory (ISG, CMS, CAPS or other qualifying body)
  • Previous service industry experience preferred.
  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail extremely important
  • In depth knowledge of Social Media tools (Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook, Snap Chat) and working knowledge of Social media scheduling and deleopment tools (later, linkinbio, Canva, Mailchimp
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to stand and move for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while working in a fast paced environment.
