We are currently seeking qualified applicants for a Maintenance Trainer to join our growing crew of dedicated aviation professionals supporting Air Canada Express operated by PAL Airlines maintenance operations in St. John's, NL.

The Maintenance Trainer is responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive instruction in assigned courses, ensuring that maintenance personnel grasp both theoretical concepts and practical applications in the organization's maintenance operations. In addition to teaching, the maintenance trainer will perform administrative tasks, such as building training programs, maintaining records, assessing student performance, and collaborating with management to enhance the curriculum.

Key Duties:

  • Develop training materials to support company operational initiatives and in keeping with industry standards which support maintenance activities.
  • Provide training to all company maintenance personnel, creating a positive teaching atmosphere which encourages student participation and offers individualized support to enhance student success.
  • Oversee administrative responsibilities, including maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Teach classes on a scheduled basis, creating an inclusive and welcoming environment that fosters student engagement and enhances learning in aircraft maintenance.
  • Coordinate required external training sessions for maintenance personnel.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and refine curriculum, prepare course materials, and schedule classes, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  • Establish and maintain accurate academic and attendance records for each student, submitting attendance, grades, evaluations, and other documentation as required by institutional procedures.
  • Proactively notify the management team of any current or potential issues that require immediate attention and implement proven retention techniques to support student success.
  • Cooperate with management team in the revision or creation of maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain personal develop initiatives which will ensure training programs continue to meet organizational and industry standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Transport Canada M1/M2 license (preferred)
  • Minimum five (3) years of hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong command of both theoretical and practical aspects of aircraft maintenance, with contemporary knowledge and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven, and compliance-oriented educational setting.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and highly organized, with the capability to multitask and perform well under pressure.
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity, a strong work ethic, and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong emphasis on customer service in an educational context.
  • Highly motivated and goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, exhibiting exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Willingness to work outside of regular shifts as necessary or requested by the Management team to support training requirements.
